Ernesto J Vaca
Ernesto has been a part of the South Florida hospitality industry for many years, beginning his career at the Mayfair House hotel in Coconut Grove. He then joined the Ritz Plaza Hotel – Shore Club on South Beach as Director of Sales and participated in establishing the hotel as the leading hotel for the fashion and film industry. He was also instrumental in positioning the hotel to the European and Latin American markets and to secure business in their target markets.

Ernesto then became part of the management team of a collection of family owned hotels, the Rubell Hotels, in South Beach. Staying on South Beach, he subsequently joined the Shelborne Beach Resort on Miami Beach, one of the early condo-hotels, as Sales Director where he maximized its revenue segments and assisted the General Manager on day-to-day operations. He was also responsible for increasing occupancy and the hotel’s ADR.

His most recent assignment was as director of Sales and Marketing/Operations for the Comfort Suites in Kendall, south of Miami. Ernesto was responsible for developing new business and increasing the ranking of the hotel among its Miami competition, which he did very successfully.

Over the years, Ernesto’s responsibilities have included working closely with owners and management, developing new business, elevating hotel standards, maximizing revenue, maintaining top accounts, and positioning his hotels to secure business in their target markets.
